MODEL SPOTLIGHT - Krazy About Kristy

|
Kristy OMP ID: 25106 is an Austin, Texas resident who got her
start after taking her senior pictures with area photographer David Neuse OMP ID: 21105.
"I was actually a jock at the time, so I wasn't
into modeling at all. But he convinced me to build a portfolio, and I did. Then he told me about One Model Place, so I joined when I was about
19 years old. And from there, the rest is history."
Talk about effective guidance counseling! Since trading in her starter jacket for designer swimwear, her career has taken off. Kristy has done
runway, radio, and calendars. She won the Miss Caribbean Tan International competition last year, and was a featured model for the USA National
Bikini Team.
You may have seen Kristy in the pages of Mystique, Teeze, and Playboy Special Editions. She's also modeled for Escante and Mayella lingerie
catalogs. "I would love to do Sports Illustrated, the Swimsuit Edition, and I also want to do Victoria Secret."
This talented Texan has been cast in the lead part in a movie with acclaimed filmmaker Robert Rodriguez. "He's local in Austin, so I actually
went in for an audition. After they saw my OMP page they asked me to come in for an audition, and I got the part. It's a suspense thriller, so
it's scary. I get to run around and do my own stunts and fight people!"
Her other recent accomplishments are equally impressive. "I have been traveling more than ever. I host events as a Playboy model, and I recently
shot in Jamaica with world famous photographer John Neyrot. And I will be in Destin, FL in September working a runway show for a new lingerie
line called Senses. All in all, everything has really taken off in the past month. I hope to keep being published and make a big break in the
movie industry as well. I have been doing tons of auditions so I am gaining a lot of experience in film."
She credits OneModelPlace.com as the reason for much of her success. "I've gotten a lot of paid work from OMP, and built my portfolio up to where
it is now. I wouldn't be where I am without it."
Kristy is the latest model to be featured in our Summergirl Series on Out
of Focus. To see Kristy in action, check out Out of Focus #59 in
the Flashbacks section. And while on OOF, surf around and check out our other Summergirls as well.

» New Features on OMP – Stuart Burden
Link to your OMP Home Page!
Years ago, I created software that would allow members to generate a custom banner on One Model Place, and then use that banner for linking back to
their OMP Profile. Members really seemed to like it. Now I have resurrected that function in an all-new Link Generator for members. This version
takes a snapshot of your current OMP page, then gives you a choice of image sizes to select and also provides you with the HTML for each image. You
can drop it right into message boards or on your own website or personal pages, etc., to link back to your OMP profile. (Please note: Some websites
like MySpace filter HTML content, so this may not work on any site that uses filters).
When you make changes to your profile (especially the main image, because that is prominent in the snapshot), you can come back and re-generate the
images and the changes will automatically appear on the pages you have linked outside of OMP. To use this feature:
- Login to OMP
- Click: Link Generator
There you will see two sample images (a photographer profile on the left, which is my page, and a model profile on the right -- our OMP webmaster).
These samples will not display once you have generated your own link images. This link will also be available when you log in (you will see it on the
Models Only and Members Services pages). If you're a Platinum or Platinum Plus Member and have the slideshow selected as your main image, you may
notice a different image on each snapshot (this is normal).
How can I display my OMP Page on my Own Website?
If you have your own website, here is how you can integrate your OMP page into that website. Below is a simple HTML code that allows you to create
a basic frameset, so that you can have your OMP portfolio page show up on a separate domain and website. The prerequisites are that you understand
some basic HTML, have your own website or domain, and have access to that domain to change the pages. Create a page with the HTML below to get
started, and change it as instructed in the paragraph below the sample HTML:
Change the title text to anything you would like it to say. In the content area, change the keywords to include a description of your page (remember
to separate them with commas as in the example above). In the <frame src=""> area change the URL to your OMP URL. Models replace
the ID number 14181 (which is the webmaster profile) with your ID number. Photographers and other members replace the ID=14181 with
P_ID= and your ID number.
We Are Hiring!
One Model Place has a lot of projects planned for this year, and a lot of growth planned as well. We have created a Jobs Page to list contract, volunteer,
and fulltime positions and we want to fill those positions with talented people. We are also looking for volunteers for moderators, designers for site
design and HTML, and programmers to work on current and new feature development. Check out the pages at the following link:

» Wild Bikinis
Bikini Jam turns 21 and OMP will be there! One Model Place is making a big splash this year by co-sponsoring the 21st annual UjENA Bikini Jam, which is
taking place in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico from Aug. 29-Sept. 4. UjENA Swimwear is one of the leading design labels in the business, so when OMP was offered
the chance to team up with this great company, the decision was an easy one. Over 100 models and 50 photographers will be trying to get the perfect image
and win major cash and prizes in the competition.
OMP is participating at all levels of Bikini Jam. Stuart Burden (OMP Co-founder) will be there as a Judge for the main competition. In addition we will
be running our own competition for the OMP Bikini Model of the Year; Representatives from around the United States will be posing all week in hopes of
winning the $5,000 top prize and the title of OMP Bikini Model of the Year. Brett Cramer (OMP Co-founder) will be onsite supervising this competition,
and world class Playboy Photographer Jarmo Pohjaniemi will be photographing the models for this part of event.
In addition OMP is hosting a late night party at Hilo Club starting at 10:30pm. Hope see you all there!! For more information on UjENA and the Bikini Jam event,

» In the Swim
Judging from the wide variety of outfits on display at the Sunglass Hut Swim Shows Miami 2007, women (and men) will
have plenty to choose from next year when heading to watery locales and sandy destinations.
This annual event – which has taken place for the last 23 years -- was held July 15-19 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The Swim Show is billed as the place "where retailers can find all the top swimwear manufacturers and the very latest in swimwear,
beach, and resort designs." It is the largest swimwear tradeshow in the world, and offers buyers an early opportunity
to see the newest designs for the upcoming cruise season. Talk about making a splash in the industry!

To give you an idea of how many different designers were represented at the event; the Swim Show features 350
exhibitors representing almost 2,000 separate lines. Over 2,000 buyers from the United States and 39 different
countries spanning the globe attend the event. So the next time you pick out a bikini or pair of trunks from the
rack at the store, remember that the latest trends in bathing suit styles all start at the Swim Show.
Designers including Shay Todd, Parke & Ronen, Gideon Oberson, and Norma Kamali showed their new collections on the runway,
while celebrities such as Tara Reid marveled from the audience. All in all, a successful series of shows bode well for an
upcoming season of sexy new swimwear in stores near you.

» LUSH Life at OMP
One Model Place is turning up the heat this summer with our monthly competitions. With the recent Americana themed
and Petite Model contests garnering a lot of interest from OMP members, we now turn the spotlight on fashionable
models and landscape photographers for our August competitions.
August also marks a new sponsor for One Model Place and the competitions. OMP is product to welcome LUSH Fresh Handmade
Cosmetics to our honored list of partners.

The LUSH approach to cosmetics retailing can, at best, be described as ‘unorthodox’. LUSH is far more a food retailer than a
traditional cosmetics company (think handmade and fresh merchandise loaded with natural ingredients, butchers’ blocks, prices by
weight, grease-proof wrapping paper, and best-by dates). In LUSH’s ‘beauty delis’, soaps are piled high on Provençal-style wooden
tables like strange and exotic cheeses, whilst a myriad of orbs (fizzing Bath Bombs) are presented in-store like perfectly round apples.
The approach is to make cosmetics as natural as possible with every LUSH product crammed with the highest quality – and importantly,
organic wherever possible – ingredients: herbs, fruit, flowers and essential oils. Today, LUSH is nearing 400 shops world-wide in addition
to Mail Order operations servicing the major markets including North America. LUSH makes its cosmetics by hand in its own production facilities
throughout the world including Canada to ensure that products remain as fresh as possible.
For more information on LUSH and its unique product line of bath, body, skincare, and hair care products, visit them at
www.LUSHusa.com.

SHORT CUTS
The Miss Universe pageant was held last month, and while ratings have been sinking over the past few years,
the actual telecast managed to stay afloat and appear shipshape. The contestants were visually stunning,
the proceedings were well-paced, and the hosts were not overly annoying. Miss Puerto Rico came away the big winner,
and caused a post-show stir by fainting in the press room after spending time under the hot lights in her chain-mail inspired evening gown.
Keira Knightley goes overboard on the sexy scale in her performance in "Pirates of the Caribbean," so much so that it's
easy to overlook the film's shortcomings and long running time and even look forward to Part 3. Of course, nothing stopped
audiences from making the movie a record-breaking success at the box office. Looks like Disney really did find a true
treasure among its feature projects.
If you don't recognize the name Pedro Lourenco, you will soon. The designer is just 16 years old, but he has already
finished his seventh show, at the Spring/Summer '07 Sao Paulo Fashion Week. Pedro is the son of acclaimed Brazilian
fashion designers Renaldo Lourenco and Gloria Coelho, also represented in Sao Paulo. The young veteran has been designing
since he was four, and now that he's grown up, plans to move to Paris where he ultimately hopes start developing line of haute couture.

monthly media review

Even though "High School Musical" is aimed at the younger set, there's something to be said for a made-for-TV project
that has captured the hearts, minds, and spending dollars of a whole generation. Since it debuted on The Disney Channel
in January, it has drawn record number of viewers and also spawned a record-breaking soundtrack, both in stores and online.
The DVD is now available, and the sequel is set to debut later this month. Looks like this school project gets an A+.
